Learn how to make one of the most versatile tools in the quilter’s belt; the half square triangle, or HST.

Thursday evening in-person sewing classes will emphasize improvisational and modern quilting basics.

This friendly, non-judgemental and accessible program is intended to enhance a feeling of belonging, enjoyment, and accomplishment. As we work together, we build community and friendships.

The Details:

Each session will be divided into four classes, provided once per week. (There will be a one week break on Sept 18th.)

Each session will provide skills learning opportunities as participants work toward a completed project.

Where: Classes take place at String Theory Yarn Shop, 152 St. Andrew St. W., Fergus, Ontario, Canada.
When: Thursdays, 7 - 8:30 pm, starting Sept. 11/25

Participants will learn:

how and where to shop for fabric

  • how to prepare fabric

  • basic cutting and piecing

  • how to sew a ¼’ seam allowance

  • Each project will be started, progressed upon, and completed within the four-class session.

This four-class session introduces the fundamentals of quilting while creating a beautiful Thanksgiving themed table runner.

Designed for beginners and those looking to build their skills, this class provides a supportive environment where participants will create a finished project from start to finish.

A scrappy little block featuring piecing, quilt “sandwiching”, making and adding a binding, and improvisational hand stitching. This little ‘quiltette’ includes virtually all the elements required to make a full sized quilt!

Participants will complete a Thanksgiving themed table runner.

Cost:

Each session (of four classes) is $160 + applicable taxes. Most materials are included*. A maximum of four students may attend each session.
